Il Nesso | Art Verona

Il Nesso was submitted to the Design Welcome competition series for the design of a transitional space between the entry gates and main gallery of the annual art fesitival Art Verona in Milan, Italy. With emphasis on recycleability and sourcing of local materials, the design highlights not only the transition between two spaces, but harkens to Milan's rich textile industry and its ability to bridge two eras of history and time at once.

“Il Nesso” bridges two worlds, much like the Ponte Pietra. A portal is created, where colors saturate, bleed, and blend on fabric throughout the duration of the event. The rift caused by the path creates two new spaces, the CreateVerona, and ArtLounge. Where the former becomes a place for visitors to create souvenirs and momentos, the later becomes a private place of social gathering. “Il Nesso” is simply built and the materials chosen would be locally sourced and eco-friendly.
